Thank you so much for visiting 'Bear' Bottoms Originals Studio site. Art has been a big part of my life since I was very young. I was raised in the Army, and am now an active duty Army wife. I feel so thankful that I have such a wonderful husband who supports my creativity. We have three wonderful young children - two girls and a boy, a gentle Doberman named Max, and a gray tabby cat named Chloe.
I began creating Artist Bears in 2005, after sculpting faeries and animals for some time. I was searching eBay for faeries and happened across a faery Teddy Bear and was amazed! I had no idea someone made such precious things! The artist graciously pointed me in the right direction, I bought a book on Teddy Bear making, and from then I was hooked. I do still enjoy clay sculpting occasionally, as well as mural work and pencil drawing, but my passion is in soft sculpture Artist Bears. Such skill, science, and precision goes into creating Artist Bears... not to mention heart! It brings me so much joy to create my bears, watch them develop their own unique personalities, and come to 'life'. When I smile at my bear, it smiles back at me. :) There is no price that can be put on the happiness that I hope one of my creations brings their new 'mom' or 'dad', and it is an immeasurable reward to hear how much each of my creations mean to someone. It is my goal that my creations 'speak', bring comfort, bring joy. Thank you for taking the time to learn about me, and have a blessed day!
